Maple Fleur-de-Lis Cross
This fleur-de-lis cross is made of birdseye maple.
It is finished with two coats of boiled linseed oil and two
coats
of wax. It measures roughly 5 1/2" by 8 1/4" and took about
12
hours to make from start to finish. (If that makes such a
small item
seem too pricey, remember that up to a point a given design isn't much
harder to make bigger. I would expect doubling the size of
this
to add only about six hours' work. And eliminating the circle
would cut the time by a third.)   |
